Jewel Caceres, founder of Active Rest Workouts, is a fitness enthusiast, coach, and consultant who loves to help people live their lives in the best way possible. Jewel is looking to bring fitness and wellness conveniently into the workplace, home, and wherever else you can get fitness in that is outside of the gym. Particularly, Jewel is cultivating a culture shift in the workplace in which which she is bringing the importance of good employee health and wellness to the forefront in order to help improve companies' bottom lines as well as employee satisfaction levels.
After working in the fitness industry for over 12 years, Jewel moved into the public sector to continue her pursuit of helping people and began working a desk job for 8 hours a day. Going from an active work environment and active lifestyle to a sedentary and demanding work environment was dramatic in itself, but the changes to Jewel's health and well-being were just as impacted dramatically, as well as her eyes being opened to seeing how such a work environment weighed on the health of those around her in the same type of settings. After a few years of this and a few extra pounds added on, Jewel began to develop workouts that she could do right in her cubicle that were effective, convenient, and efficient. After seeing results from it, she later developed 10-minute workouts for each break of the workday for a workout challenge that was posed by the Wellness Department at work. It was so impactful the first year that Jewel developed more workouts for a second year thereafter to the delight of her co-workers. After the challenge was completed, Jewel realized it was time to expand this to companies everywhere where there is a great need to improve employee health and work productivity as well as job satisfaction. This is how the birth of Active Rest Workouts came to be.
